Support in building "state-of-the-art" client/server development environment.

Java seems to be nowadays the most commonly used product to ensure platform independency. We use Java as a client with the server being either J2EE compatible server for n-tier solution, or we can go directly against your database for simplier, old-style client/server applications.
PowerBuilder used to be our platform of choice for client side, but its use in our opinion is weaning. We can support your existing applications for you, give them occasional "face lift", but we don't offer new development in Powerbuilder.

Our favorite back-end platform is ORACLE. We support versions 7.3, 8, 8i, and 9i. PL/SQL, Stored procedures, packages, Oracle Objects,  etc. is our bread and butter.
Our  second choice back-end platform is Microsoft SQL Server . Again, stored procedures, triggers, etc. is what we do.
We will gladly work with SQL Anywhere or Sybase SQL Servers.

Support in building you Internet and Intranet solutions.

Naturally, we build static HTML pages. We also offer the whole suite of services in this arena: We can install and support free J2EE servers, such as JBoss, or inexpensive J2EE servers like Resin, to create a robust environment that can give you a nice platform for your inter-and intra-net solutions.
We can offer our services in development of JSP pages, or servlets. We can develop EJBs according to your specs, or we can offer complete "turn key" solutions.
We can also go "the other way" and offer help in area of Active Server Pages (ASP) - a product that allows you full range of dynamically built pages, that is based on a Visual Basic Script or Java Script. It also allows access to Active X components (this is OLE technology) including access to databases.
We would like to emphasize the key difference in our philosophy with the "conventional" one:
If you listen to Java purists they would tell you that accorrding to J2EE principles and also according to SUN recommendations developers are supposed to stay away from more advanced database features. If they use advanced database features they are tying themselves to a particular database, and "what if you need to change the database"? Well, this is exactly where our view drasticly differs from this:
What if you need to change your development platform, Java? I know, for some people this seems to be inconceivable, but we have been around to see rise and falls of other languages and systems. Clipper, FoxPro, Powerbuilder, just to name a few. Throughout all this time major databases stayed around and significantly improved. That is not to say that we think that Java will go away any time soon. It may never go away. What we think is that each component has to have its place depending on the situation. For instance, when developing some kind of a general purpose tool intended for sale with different back-end databases it is quite reasonable to keep as much logic in the "middle" tier (still in Java).
However, when developing an in-house system where there is only Oracle or only MS SQL database it is as unlikely that database engine will be changed as the front end development platform. Usually an organization invests so much money in both that one need a major reason to switch either.
Thus, our philosophy is to develop components using the most appropriate tool. This approach often leads to developing significant portion of the system in database packages or stored procedures and developing Java wrappers around them. Even though it usually raises some eyebrows, this approach works very successfully.

Support of your "legacy" systems in IBM Mainframe environment.

If you have legacy systems to support - we have a lot of expertise here as well. In fact, in spite of all the commotion around PCs mainframes not only survived to this day, but are getting better. Are you looking for COBOL programmers? We got them. Or may be even ASSEMBLY language gurus ? Think they are extinct ? Dinosaurs and ASSEMBLY programmers? Well, we got them too (ASSEMBLY programmers, that is). They know what BALR 15,14 means and they remember by heart what 41c0d00c does. You may see some gray hair here but their minds are as sharp as when they were ground breakers.
We also have PL/I and Fortran specialists. Do you need JCL or utilities guru? Call us and we will get you one of those who can read a deck of cards and switch odd and even card places without writing a line of code in COBOL - just pure utilities and JCL. If you let them use application language such as PL/I they may end up with something like PL/I program that runs a couple of dozen utilities such as IEBGENER in a multitasking mode copying files right and left, or calling an ASSEMBLY compiler as an application program in a loop to do some syntax conversion processing. That's why we keep them contained and dispense them wisely.

Training

Our philosophy here is that you don't get training not because you are dumb. You don't get it because you haven't been exposed to something. Therefore we don't offer "canned" classes, where you sit through half of them trying to stay awake. We work with you to see what you need and teach just that.
